Strawberry Jello Cups

Strawberry Jello Cups

Strawberry Jello Cups are perfect for 4th of July. Festive and delicious. The perfect snack or dessert for kids and adults alike.  I can’t tell you how many of these cute cups I’ve made over the years. Batches and batches for school classrooms, scout meetings and neighborhood gatherings. They are very appealing and absolutely delicious. I have to say that Berry Blue Jello is one of the best Jello flavors, and perfectly pairs with strawberries. If you show up at your 4th of July gathering with a tray of these, you’ll be everyone’s favorite!

How to make Strawberry Jello Cups

These Strawberry Jello cups couldn’t be easier to make. If I’m making these to serve at home, I use stemless wine glasses. For to-go Jello cups, use the short 9 ounce clear plastic cups.

First, rinse the stawberries and set aside to dry. You’ll need a large package, or about three small baskets to make 10 Strawberry Jello Cups.

A large 6 ounce box of Jello makes 8 half cup servings. I use a little less than a half cup, so each box of pudding will make about 10 servings. You’ll need one large box for every 10 Jello cups you plan to make.

Mix the Berry Blue Jello according to the package directions. Line up 10 cups and pour the Jello evenly into them. Place the cups in the refrigerator for about 2 hours, until they are mostly set.

Now it’s time to top the Jello with whipped topping. You’ll want to use a tub of frozen whipped topping, defrosted in the refrigerator. The non-dairy whipped topping is very stable and will hold up well to make in advance. Freshly made whipped cream or whipped cream from a spray can will deflate over time.

Carefully drop a large dollop of whipped topping onto the Jello and gently spread it to the edges of the cup. You want to try not to get it on the sides of the cup so the layers look clean. If you use roughly a 1/4 cup, each 8 ounce tub will top 10 Jello cups.

Next come the strawberries.  Remove the tops, slice them and place them in a layer on top of the whipped topping. Cover with plastic wrap and keep them in the refrigerator.

So easy and very festive. If you vary the color of the Jello and fruit, you can make these for any occasion. Swap the blue Jello with green for a cute Christmas treat. Use purple Jello and canned mandarin oranges for Halloween. The possibilities are endless.

Enjoy!
