What you need
Yellow or lemon cake mix
Eggs
Shortening
Lemon extract
Yellow food coloring
Mini chocolate chips
Orange jelly candies
Orange icing tube
How to make Easter Chick Cookies
This recipe couldn’t be easier. Simply mix all of the ingredients in your stand mixer or with a hand mixer. Yellow food coloring and lemon extract are optional. Roll 1 inch balls of dough and place them on a cookie sheet. Now roll 1/2 inch balls of dough and place them just above the larger ball and make sure they are touching. Separate each cookie by about 1 1/2 inches as they will spread. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 10 minutes, or until they just begin to brown on the edges.
Place two mini chocolate chips for eyes and a tiny piece of orange candy for a beak. Use the orange icing tube to pipe the feet. These are suggestions, you can decorate them any way you’d like.
