Strawberry Margaritas

Strawberry Margaritas

Margaritas on the rocks. It’s the grown up way to drink a margarita. But . . . I had forgotten how delicious a blended Strawberry Margarita could be! In my younger days this was one of my favorites and I have to say, it still is. The glass was rimmed on the left with lime salt and on the right with sugar. Delicious!!

What you need

Frozen strawberries

Lime juice

Agave syrup

Blanco tequila

Lime salt

Sugar

Lime

How to make Strawberry Margaritas

First, get four margarita glasses ready. Put lime salt in one saucer and sugar in another. Run a lime wedge around the rim of the margarita glasses and dip one side into the lime salt and the other side into the sugar.

Important note: I love lime salt. Really love it. When I was a kid, we always put salt on watermelon and apples. But lime salt? Ridiculously good. Sprinkle some on watermelon and you’ll always have it on hand like I do.

This recipe is very flexible. It makes four margaritas and calls for 6 to 8 ounces of blanco tequila. Lime juice ranges from 1 1/2 cups to 2 cups. Agave syrup ranges from 1/4 to 1/2 cup. Adjust each to your preference – strong, sweet, tart, etc. Start small with each ingredient and add more until its your perfect margarita.

Next, put the frozen strawberries, lime juice, agave syrup and tequila into your blender. Blend until smooth and pour into the margarita glasses. Top with a thin slice of lime and enjoy!
