Everyone loves a great BLT. I don’t have anything against lettuce, but what I really love is just Bacon & Tomato. When I was a kid, we ate Bacon & Tomato sandwiches. No lettuce involved. Bacon and tomato really are the two main flavors you get out of a BLT, aren’t they? The best part is that everyone can make them the way they like them.
You can make a BLT on any type of bread you like, but white bread is the original and really is the best. Check out my recipe for White Sandwich Bread.

How to make The Best BLT (or Bacon & Tomato)
Fry a pound of bacon until crispy and golden brown. I do two batches in a large frying pan. Transfer them to a paper towel lined plate drain.
Wash and pat dry leaves of the lettuce of your choice. I used romaine. Slice two large tomatoes.
Very lightly toast two slices of white bread. Spread on some mayonnaise and top with bacon, lettuce and tomato. Add some salt and pepper to the tomato and enjoy!
